On October 28, 2014, a delegation of the Council of Arab Business Ladies, headed by the organization's president, Her Highness Sheikha Hissa Saad Abdullah Al-Salim Al-Sabah, visited Nizhny Novgorod. Nizhny Novgorod became one of the three Russian cities, along with Moscow and St. Petersburg, where the Council of Arab Business Ladies studies the possibilities of business cooperation and direct investments from the Arab world.
During the visit, the Council's delegation met with representatives of the most prominent development holdings in the Nizhny Novgorod Region, namely Stolitsa Nizhny Group.
Elada Nagornaya, Director of the Advertising and Marketing Department of Stolitsa Nizhny Group, told the Arab business ladies about the company’s projects, structure, and operating principles, presenting, as an offer for investment, a new project, currently under development, a mixed-use complex Yacht Club on the bank of the Volga river.
Elada Nagornaya explained that this project was designed to contribute to the city's modernization, making it closer to Europe and developing private shipping, which today is almost lost throughout Russia.
Located near the city center and its main attractions, the yacht club will be an essential recreation place for citizens and visitors. Besides, the complex will create Nizhny Novgorod’s first infrastructure for mass yachting and sailing, which the city needs.
“The yacht club complex is unique because its design considers Nizhny Novgorod’s landscape features, as well as river banks, to make them more accessible to its residents,” said Elada Nagornaya.
Besides the anchorage for riverboats, the project includes apartment buildings, a hotel, trade areas, a business center, a hall for public events, cafes, restaurants, a concert hall, shopping galleries, and other public facilities. The complex’s infrastructure will support a healthy lifestyle. In addition, there will be a comfortable and beautiful embankment, a children's open-air playground, and a children's leisure center.
The architectural and compositional idea of the yacht club is to create inside the complex an urban interior consisting of squares, streets, and boulevards, half-closed and open mainly in the space of the Volga River and oriented to the surrounding metropolitan areas and objects.
The Council of Arab Business Ladies delegation praised the opportunities of the project and the prospects for cooperation in general.
“We came here to exchange ideas. It is important for us as a council of Arab businesswomen to meet and coordinate with Russian businesswomen,” said Sheikha Hissa, President of the Council. “Besides, there are many projects which could interest the government of Kuwait in terms of investment. This is my first visit to Russia. Before coming here, I did not know what to expect, but now I see that your country is developing very rapidly, and we want to be a part of this development and invest in Russia. In Nizhny Novgorod, we met some real estate projects, and as far as I can see, your city is developing very rapidly, too. The ideas for future construction projects presented to us show that your city will soon become truly European.”
